Rare and stunning Selenite Acicular Crystal formation with crystal sizes from very fine to 79 mm wide and up to 39 mm long. Their coloring is a butterscotch showing a transparent to a translucent clarity. This desirable specimen comes from Mt Gunson, Australia. This specimen is EXTREMELY Fragile.

 

This cabinet specimen is from old stock. Notice the two distinct layers of crystallization in this specimen! 


Selenite is a crystalline of gypsum, a common mineral that forms during the evaporation of salt-rich waters. It's very soft, and the crystals tend to be partially translucent with coloration being due to the presence of other minerals.
